Arbitrary Box Office Results for the Weekend of June 30, 2006

It's not surprising that "Superman Returns" will be number one this week. What IS surprising is that somebody somewhere wants to see "The Devil Wears Prada." In fact, so many somebody-somewheres want to see it that it will debut in the top five.

How do you like them apples?

I think they are tangy and not worth eating.

1. Little Boy Blue (Superman Returns): $79.2 million. You will believe a man could wear tights.
   
2. Talking in a retarded voice for two hours (Click): $13 million. Anybody else looking back fondly at the good ol' days of Little Nicky?
   
3. There Will Probably Be Catfights (The Devil Wears Prada):$12.6 million. The Devil pays too much for clothing.
   
4. Paul Newman Must Retire (Cars): $10.1 million. Next.
   
5. Mexicans On a Wrestling Mat (Nacho Libre): $5.2 million. Thankfully, nobody seems to be quoting this one.

Next week belongs to Pirates of the Caribbean. This week belongs to us. Fight the man.
