Arbitrary Box Office Results for the Weekend of May 5, 2006

My theater sold more tickets last evening for the returning number-three hit, Stick It, than it did for new Scientology vehicle and predetermined Summer Blockbuster M:I 3. Meanwhile, there were shows of last week's #1 (RV) that were empty last evening. In the words of one of the greatest philosophers of our age, "this shit is b-a-n-a-n-a-s."

1. Nobody cares, Tom (Mission: Impossible 3): 33.7 million. I don't want to hear about spies, Tom. I don't. Now tell me more about your wacky space-god.
2. An American Haunting (An American Haunting): 12.3 million. I'm too indifferent to come up with an alternate name for this movie.
3. 9/11 Was Exciting and Fun! (United 93): 12.1 million. Didn't like it. Not enough explosions. Next movie.
4. ...Where the Sun Don't Shine (Stick It): 9.7 million. Preteen girls and androgynous boys everywhere squeal with excitement as Stick It makes the charts for another week.
5. Rapidly Vanishing...crowds (RV): 7.3 million. I guess the Robin Williams fanclub got it out of their system last week.

Not making the top 5: Give a Title, Don't Pollute (Hoot). Something about owls or boobie-tits. I don't know.

If I'm right, one member of the Robot Hand is the Future readership gets a surprise visit from Jack "Damn It!" Bauer. If you're lucky, he won't snap your neck or rip your esophagus out with a towel!
